Launch of a Belgian Academic Network on Islam, Culture and Society
We are pleased to announce the creation of a new academic network bringing together researchers from various Belgian universities working on Islam, culture, and society. While the name of the network is still to be decided collectively, its inaugural meeting will take place on October 17th, 2025, at the FWO auditorium in Brussels.
This event is a unique opportunity to connect with fellow PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and professors from diverse disciplines who share an interest in Muslim cultures.

11:00–12:00 | Panel 1: The study of Muslim Cultures in Belgium today: status questionis
12:00–13:30 | Lunch & networking
13:30–14:30 | Panel 2: Minorities in/and Islam: cross-cultural perspectives
14:30–15:30 | Panel 3: The ethics and aesthetics of Muslim Cultures
